The JPL Open Repository (JOR) replaced the JPL Technical Report Server (TRS) in 2023. It is a repository for digital copies of technical publications authored by JPL employees. It includes journal articles (the Final Accepted Version), meeting papers, presentations, and other publications cleared for external distribution from 1992 to the present. It also include research datasets from 2022 on.

Years covered: 1992 to the present.
  • 1992-2021 records were originally on the JPL Technical Report Server (TRS) on Dspace system; those records were migrated to Dataverse in 2022.
  • Records with publication date 2022 or later are native to the Dataverse.
  • Data sets: 2022 to present
  • There are a few pre-1992 records. Those were added to the system on a case-by-case request basis.

  • Persistent IDs (PIDs):
  • 1992-2021 records have Handles
  • 2022 and later records have Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs).

Corey Cochrane, 2024, "PlanetMag manuscript", https://doi.org/10.48577/jpl.OBBCJ8, Earth and Space Science, JPL Open Repository
Spacecraft investigation of planets within the solar system have provided a rich context for understanding their dynamic magnetic environments. Magnetic field measurements are able to tell us much about the planet’s interior dynamics, composition, and evolutionary timeline. Magne...

Mattia Poinelli, 2024, "Can rifts alter ocean dynamics beneath ice shelves?", https://doi.org/10.48577/jpl.QM6MHD, The Cryosphere, JPL Open Repository
Land ice discharge from the Antarctic continent into the ocean is restrained by ice shelves, floating extensions of grounded ice that buttress the glacier freshwater outflow. The ongoing thinning of these ice shelves - largely due to enhanced melting at their base in response to...

Nan Yu, 2024, "Progress in the miniature trapped ion optical clock development with 16 cc sealed trap tube", https://doi.org/10.48577/jpl.NKDEYM, IOP Journal of Physics, JPL Open Repository
Optical clocks have well surpassed the frequency stability performance of microwave clocks. They have been mainly limited to tabletop setups and large rack-mount systems. Miniaturizing optical clocks will make the new technology and capability more ubiquitously applied to applica...

Catherine Clark, 2024, "The Discovery of Four Eccentric Sub-Neptunes Close to M dwarfs from TESS", https://doi.org/10.48577/jpl.FCEX98, Astronomical Journal, JPL Open Repository
Sub-Neptunes with 2 − 3R⊕, which are commonly discovered around M dwarfs, are intermediate planets that bridge a gap between abundant rocky planets and rare Neptune- and Jupiter-sized ones. The orbital properties and bulk compositions of transiting sub-Neptunes give an inkling of...
