The JPL Open Repository (JOR) replaced the JPL Technical Report Server (TRS) in 2023. It is a repository for digital copies of technical publications authored by JPL employees. It includes journal articles (the Final Accepted Version), meeting papers, presentations, and other publications cleared for external distribution from 1992 to the present. It also include research datasets from 2022 on.

Years covered: 1992 to the present.
  • 1992-2021 records were originally on the JPL Technical Report Server (TRS) on Dspace system; those records were migrated to Dataverse in 2022.
  • Records with publication date 2022 or later are native to the Dataverse.
  • Data sets: 2022 to present
  • There are a few pre-1992 records. Those were added to the system on a case-by-case request basis.

  • Persistent IDs (PIDs):
  • 1992-2021 records have Handles
  • 2022 and later records have Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs).

Manning, R., 1993, "Low Cost Spacecraft Computers: Oxymoron or Future Trend?", https://hdl.handle.net/2014/34868, Keystone, Colorado, USA, JPL Open Repository
This paper describes how future trends in commercial computer technology will simplify (or hinder) selection of computer technology for spacecraft control applications, and what spacecraft electronic system designers can do to circumvent design constraints.

Tanner, A.; Durden, S.; Im, E.; Li, F.; Ricketts, W.; Wilsons, W., 1993, "Pulse Compression with Very Low Sidelobes in an Airborne Rain Mapping Rada", https://hdl.handle.net/2014/35407, USA, JPL Open Repository
The pulse compression system for an airborne rain mapping rada is described. This system uses time domain weighting of the transmit pulse and is able to achive a pulse compression sidelobe level of -55 dB. This is significantly lower than any values previously reported in the ope...

Weissman, Paul R., 1993, "(abstract) Scientific Objectivity and the Impact Hazard: Responsible Reporting Versus Crying Wolf", https://hdl.handle.net/2014/35402, Tucson, AZ, JPL Open Repository
Impacts of comets and asteroids on the Earth pose a real hazard, comparable in probability to other hazards which society deems worthy of concern. As such, it is prudent and reasonable to investigate and institute means for evaluation of the exact nature of the hazard and possibl...

This paper presents data used to construct color-magnitude diagrams for the purposes of investigating the massive-star content of the associations.

Tsurutani, B., 1993, "Electromagnetic Waves with Frequencies Near the Local Proton Gryofrequency: ISEF-3 1 AU Observations", https://hdl.handle.net/2014/35612, UNKNOWN, JPL Open Repository
Low Frequency electromagnetic waves with periods near the local proton gyrofrequency have been detected near 1 AU by the magnetometer onboard ISEE-3. For these 1 AU waves two physical processes are possible: solar wind pickup of nuetral (interstellar?) particles and generation by...

Plaut, J.; Arvidson, R., 1993, "Comparison of Goldstone and Magellan Radar Data in the Equatorial Plains of Venus", https://hdl.handle.net/2014/36009, JPL Open Repository
This paper describes the comparison of image data with derived parameters of the equatorial plains of Venus.

Chahine, M. T., 1993, "Observation of Local Cloud and Moisture Feedbacks Associated with High Ocean and Desert Surface Temperatures", https://hdl.handle.net/2014/34988, n/a, JPL Open Repository
New data on clouds and moisture, made possible by reanalysis of weather satellite observations, show that the atmosphere reacts to warm ocean pools in the Western Pacific Ocean with increased moisture and cloudiness, suggesting a negative feedback limiting the rise in sea-surface...

The equivalence of gravitational and inertial mass has been advanced to a basic postulate of the Einstein view of gravity. As such it deserves the most rigorous testing possible.
