The JPL Open Repository (JOR) replaced the JPL Technical Report Server (TRS) in 2023. It is a repository for digital copies of technical publications authored by JPL employees. It includes journal articles (the Final Accepted Version), meeting papers, presentations, and other publications cleared for external distribution from 1992 to the present. It also includes research datasets from 2022 on.

Years covered: 1992 to the present.
  • 1992-2021 records were originally on the JPL Technical Report Server (TRS) on Dspace system; those records were migrated to Dataverse in 2022.
  • Records with publication date 2022 or later are native to the Dataverse.
  • Data sets: 2022 to present
  • There are a few pre-1992 records. Those were added to the system on a case-by-case request basis.

  • Persistent IDs (PIDs):
  • 1992-2021 records have Handles
  • 2022 and later records have Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs).

In the past year, there has been substantial impetus for NASA to consider missions that are of relatively low cost as a trade off for a higher new mission launch rate. To maintain low mission cost, these missions will be of short duration and will use smaller launch vehicles (e.g...

    Toth, R. A., 1993, "The v1-v2, v3-v2, v1, and v3 bands of H216O: line positions and strengths", https://hdl.handle.net/2014/34957, UNKNOWN, JPL Open Repository
High-resolution spectra of H216O were recorded with a Fourier-transform spectrometer covering transitions in the (100)-(010), (001)-(010), (100)-(000), and (001)-(000) bands. The measured line frequencies were used to determine high accuracy values of rotational energy levels in...

Schwuttke, U.M.; Gasser, L., 1993, "Improving Real-time Performance of Intelligent Systems with Dynamic Trade-off Evaluation", https://hdl.handle.net/2014/36342, USA, JPL Open Repository
This paper describes dynamic trade-off evalation (DTE), a new technique that has been developed to improve the performance of real-time problem solving systems. The DTE technique is most suitable for environments in which the requirement for meeting time constraints is of equal o...

A 248-nm excimer laser was used to thin naturally occurring type 1a diamond substrates at normal and glancing (22 deg) incidence. Perforation of a 250 micron thick substrate was achieved in about 15 minutes at normal incidence. Whilst the substrate thinned at glancing incidence w...

By incorporating a 1-nm-thick p+ doping spike at the PtSi/Si interface, we have successfullydemonstrated extended cutoff wavelengths of PtSi Schottky infrared detectors. The extended cutoffwavelengths resulted from the reduced effective potential barriers due to the combined effe...

For the first time, a unipolar terminal-attractor based neural associative memory (TABAM)system with adaptive threshold and perfect convergence is presented. By adaptively setting thethreshold values for the dynamic iteration for the unipolar binary neuron states with terminal-at...

The high temperature event observed by ground based infrared radiometry of Io in January of 1990 can be modeled as an extremely active silicate lava flow which increased its area and cooled over a period of three hours. The best model at the start of the observations is a thermal...
