The JPL Open Repository (JOR) replaced the JPL Technical Report Server (TRS) in 2023. It is a repository for digital copies of technical publications authored by JPL employees. It includes journal articles (the Final Accepted Version), meeting papers, presentations, and other publications cleared for external distribution from 1992 to the present. It also includes research datasets from 2022 on.

Years covered: 1992 to the present.
  • 1992-2021 records were originally on the JPL Technical Report Server (TRS) on Dspace system; those records were migrated to Dataverse in 2022.
  • Records with publication date 2022 or later are native to the Dataverse.
  • Data sets: 2022 to present
  • There are a few pre-1992 records. Those were added to the system on a case-by-case request basis.

  • Persistent IDs (PIDs):
  • 1992-2021 records have Handles
  • 2022 and later records have Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs).

The lowering of air temperatures below freezing in the fall indicates the end of summer melt and the onset of steady sea ice growth. The thickness and condition of ice that remains at the end of summer has ramifications for the thickness that that ice will attain at the end of th...

A spotlight aircraft SAR in a circular flight path can efficiently obtain an image with very high azimuth resolution or a wider azimuth viewing angle. An analysis on the spotlight SAR is made regarding the required PRF, the predicted resolution, and the computation complexity as...

The tectonic response of the Taos Plateau volcanic field in the southern San Luis basin to the late stage extensional environment of the Rio Grande rift was investigated using paleomagnetic techniques. Sixty-two sites (533 samples) of Pliocene volcanic units were collected coveri...

Cyclo aliphatic epoxide based thin gelled fils prepared by UV photo curing were characterized electrochemically. Thylene carbonate (EC) mixed with different organic liquids in different volume ratios were used as solvents.

Keppenne, C., 1993, "The El Nino/Southern Oscillation and Future Soybean Prices", https://hdl.handle.net/2014/35532, Nature, JPL Open Repository
Recently, it was shown that the application of a method combining singular spectrum analysis (SSA) and the maximum entropy method to univariate indicators of the coupled ocean-atmosphere El Nino/Southern Oscillation (ENSO) phenomenon can be helpful in determining whether an El Ni...

A new method, based on Effective mean Field Theory, is proposed for the evaluation of the optical/dielectric properties of inhomogeneous materials, in which the real and imaginary parts of the dielectric function are determined by solving a simultaneous non-linear equation.

Vasquez, J., 1993, "Observations on the Long-Period Variability of the Gulf Stream Downstream of Cape Hatteras", https://hdl.handle.net/2014/35534, JPL Open Repository
This paper indicates that topography, Rossby wave dynamics, and eddy/stream interactions, all appear to have a significant role in determining the space-time scales and propagation properties of the long-period response of sea level in the Gulf Stream.

The chirp scaling SAR processing algorithm is both accurate and efficient. Successful implementation requires proper selection of the interval of output samples, which is a function of the chirp interval, signal sampling rate, and signal bandwidth. Analysis indicates that for bot...
