The JPL Open Repository (JOR) replaced the JPL Technical Report Server (TRS) in 2023. It is a repository for digital copies of technical publications authored by JPL employees. It includes journal articles (the Final Accepted Version), meeting papers, presentations, and other publications cleared for external distribution from 1992 to the present. It also include research datasets from 2022 on.

Years covered: 1992 to the present.
  • 1992-2021 records were originally on the JPL Technical Report Server (TRS) on Dspace system; those records were migrated to Dataverse in 2022.
  • Records with publication date 2022 or later are native to the Dataverse.
  • Data sets: 2022 to present
  • There are a few pre-1992 records. Those were added to the system on a case-by-case request basis.

  • Persistent IDs (PIDs):
  • 1992-2021 records have Handles
  • 2022 and later records have Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs).

An experimental implementation of a nanometer level optical pathlength control for large baseline space interferometry is presented. The pathlength compensation system is installed on a large flexible experimental truss, thus structural motions play a dominant role in the control...

Previous analytical studies have shown the feasibility of using a limited number of active members to adaptively alter the structural shape or behavior to other desired states. As a demonstration of this concept, this paper describes the results of a sequence of validation tests,...

We have developed a model for microwave heating of a sphere in a rectangular resonant cavity. The model calculates transient temperature distributions within a sphere during the approach to steady state conditions or on the path to thermal runaway.

The Boltzmann-Ehrenfest principle of adiabatic invariance has been applied to a resonant microwave cavity containing a dielectric sphere.

POINTS is a high-precision, high-throughput interferometer intended for astromomy only. It can perform science compatable with astrophysics (AIM) and planet detection (TOPS-1). The spacecraft will be compact, lightweight, and suitable for high Earth orbit. It will employ the mini...

We use a sample of ~340 low surface brightness (LSB) disk galaxies with measured redshifts in combination with the Center for Astrophysics redshift survey to test the hypothesis that LSB galaxies have a deficit of nearby companion galaxies compared to high surface brightness (HSB...

This paper discusses the lates results of a continuing study of the properties of the complementary heterojunction field-effect transistor (CHFET) at 4K. The electrical characteristics, including the gate leakage current and the subthreshold transconductance, and the input-referr...

This paper describes a type of cosmic ray detector for isotopic and energy detection of energetic nuclei which derives both dimensions of position information from one side of the detector. This simplifies the required readout electronics, since only one precision amplifier conne...
