The JPL Open Repository (JOR) replaced the JPL Technical Report Server (TRS) in 2023. It is a repository for digital copies of technical publications authored by JPL employees. It includes journal articles (the Final Accepted Version), meeting papers, presentations, and other publications cleared for external distribution from 1992 to the present. It also include research datasets from 2022 on.

Years covered: 1992 to the present.
  • 1992-2021 records were originally on the JPL Technical Report Server (TRS) on Dspace system; those records were migrated to Dataverse in 2022.
  • Records with publication date 2022 or later are native to the Dataverse.
  • Data sets: 2022 to present
  • There are a few pre-1992 records. Those were added to the system on a case-by-case request basis.

  • Persistent IDs (PIDs):
  • 1992-2021 records have Handles
  • 2022 and later records have Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs).

Vasquez, J., 1993, "Observations on the Long-Period Variability of the Gulf Stream Downstream of Cape Hatteras", https://hdl.handle.net/2014/35534, JPL Open Repository
This paper indicates that topography, Rossby wave dynamics, and eddy/stream interactions, all appear to have a significant role in determining the space-time scales and propagation properties of the long-period response of sea level in the Gulf Stream.

Standish, E., 1993, "Improved Ephemerides of Pluto", https://hdl.handle.net/2014/35648, UNKNOWN, JPL Open Repository
The history of the Pluto ephemerides created at JPL is given. The uncertainties of present and possible future ephemerides are illustrated, and it is shown how rapidly the error grows for any present-day ephemeris of Pluto which is extrapolated into the future - tens of thousands...

Nghiem, S.; Li, F.; Lou, H.; Neumann, G., 1993, "Ocean Remote Sensing with Airborne Ku-Band Scatterometer", https://hdl.handle.net/2014/35652, JPL Open Repository
This paper describes the results of using an airborne scatterometer to measure ocean backscatter during the Surface Wave Dynamics Experiment (SWADE).

Bayard, D.; Boussalis, D., 1993, "Instrument Pointing Tracking and Vibration Suppression Using Zero Annihilation Periodic Control", https://hdl.handle.net/2014/35809, Optical Engineering, JPL Open Repository
In Zero Annihilation Periodic control, the control gains vary periodically in time, in sharp contrast to conventional controllers whose control gains are fixed in time.

Plescia, J.; Shoemaker, E.; Shoemaker, C., 1993, "Gravity Survey of the Mt. Toondina Impact Structure South Australia", https://hdl.handle.net/2014/35852, JPL Open Repository
This paper presents data to support the conclusion that gravity data combined with seismic reflection data and surface stuctural geologic mapping for the Mt. Toondina structure in South Australia reveal that the central uplift is surrounded by a ring structural depression.

Fluctuations in stmospheric angular momentum (AAM) are examined in a three-year simulation of the perpetual-January climate, performed with of a version of the UCLA general circulation model which contains no tropical, Madden-Julian oscillation (MJO).
