dc.description.abstract The age and nature of the tropical hydrogen deposits on Mars remain uncertain. Competing theories sugges that the deposits are composed of either ancient, hydrated minerals or recently emplaced water ice. We use the GFDL Mars GCM with a fully coupled atmosphere-regolith water cycle to explore which of these hypotheses is best supported by model results. en
